RPDBD Mission

The Ruston-Pt. Defiance Business District advocates for business, and community growth to enhance our neighborhood vitality through the beautification of the area and focused initiatives. We are partially supported by the City of Tacoma and are the only business district that crosses two cities: Tacoma and Ruston.

Current and Past projects include:

Promoting Local Businesses: By coordinating events such as our wine walk.
Resource Connection: Providing communication about available resources such as free trainings, grants and loans.
Beautification: Applying for funds and project management of streetscape projects such as street banners, benches, murals and sculpture.
Advocacy and Connection to City: Direct connection to the City of Tacoma’s Economic Liasion, as well as Police and elected officials.

Monthly Meetings

The RPDBD meets at 5:00pm, every other month, on the first Thursday of the month. Location rotates depending on the month. Please contact the President to be added to the mailing list or if you’d like to host a meeting.
